IN THE FIELD
In the field, our operation is definitely sustainable. Soil health is one of our top priorities. Every year, cover crops are planted as part of the crop rotation. Soil cultivation is kept to a minimum, with equipment that helps to compact the soil to conserve moisture. Organic fertilizers are also used to improve soil health and optimize production. Every year, 5% of our acreage is set aside for leveling and drainage corrections, followed by planting a cover crop over winter.
